The Oktibbeha County Heritage Museum is hosting a lecture series and rotating exhibit of ceramic arts this semester! This Spring Lecture Series will cover the processes of creating ceramic arts by starting with present day techniques, and work backwards to techniques used to create ancient pottery. Lectures will also discuss what we have learned about the history of Oktibbeha County from the remnants of the pottery left by the Native Americans.

The exhibition opening and first lecture will be on Thursday, February 22 at 6 p.m. at the Oktibbeha County Heritage Museum (206 Fellowship Street, Starkville, MS 39759) . OUR VERY OWN ROBERT LONG will be displaying his work and discussing his process. Refreshments will be provided at the event. His work will be on display for a month until the next lecture. Other featured lecturers include Cobb Institute professionals – Dylan Karges, Archaeological Illustrator (March 15 at 12 p.m.) and Dr. Evan Peacock, North American Environmental Archaeologist (April 19 at 6 p.m.).
