On Feb. 13, Adrienne Callander, lecturer in the Department of Art, led a workshop with the Boys & Girls Club of the Golden Triangle.

Lori Neuenfeldt, lecturer and programs coordinator for the Visual Arts Center Gallery and Outreach Programs,  joined Callander with a group of student volunteers from the Department of Art. Students involved were Ali Carter, Austin Grove, Jessica Kent, Mackenzie Petit, Anna Strohm and Anabel Wilson.

In anticipation of Valentine’s Day, the group taught the Boys & Girls Club students – ranging in age from 10 to 18 – how to make origami hearts.

The hearts were then made into banners that were used to decorate the classrooms.
