Brenda Willemsen, a senior Engineering major with an Art minor, has had her watercolor work “Self Portrait” accepted into “Women’s Works 2012,” a national competitive exhibition. The exhibit is presented by the Northwest Area Arts Council of Crystal Lakes (Chicago area), Illinois in Spring, 2012; it was juried by Lou Ann Burkhardt of the American Academy of Art, Nell Emerson of Edgewood Orchard Gallery, Wisconsin painter Pamela Callahan, and artists/curators/WW founders Nan Seidler and Lynn Carlson. Over 900 works were submitted to the exhibition: the jurors only accepted 120 for inclusion in the show.

Brenda also had watercolor works accepted into the 2012 MS Collegiate Competition and MSU Student Show. She plans to continue to build a portfolio and pursue a second degree in art or design.
