An identity created by Professor Jamie Burwell Mixon is featured in the newly released typography book, Mastering Type: The Essential Guide to Typography for Print and Web Design, written by Denise Bosler and published by HOW books.
Mixon’s hand-lettered Peace, Love + Desserts logo is one of 247 works selected out of more than 2000 submissions. The featured work includes 33 different types of projects by professionals and students from 36 countries.
The book breaks down the study of type into a systematic progression of typographic relationships – letters, words, sentences, paragraphs, pages and screens – through content, examples, interviews and real-world inspiration. Mastering Type is available through amazon.com
Mixon’s logo is also featured in the new book, LogoLounge 7, which was released in July.
The seventh book in the LogoLounge series celebrates the best identity work by top designers and rising talents from around the world. This edition’s far-reaching collection offers inspiration, insight and an indispensable reference tool for graphic designers and their clients.
There were over 36,000 entries with 2000 identities chosen.
