A College of Architecture, Art and Design graphic design professor and four BFA graphic design students recently won awards in the American Advertising Federation ADDY competition.

Professor Jamie Burwell Mixon won two Silver ADDYs for poster design in the 7th District American Advertising Federation competition. Her Taylor Swift and Bob Seger posters were honored. Evan Veeder won a student Gold Addy for his poster campaign, “Helping Procrastinators Succeed.” The ADDY Awards ceremony takes place April 13 at the 7th District AAF Conference in Nashville, TN.

In addition, Mixon won Best-of-Show, a Gold Addy and three Silver ADDYs in the Tuscaloosa AAF ADDY competition in February for poster designs created for Verizon Arena. Winning work included concert posters for James Taylor, Taylor Swift, Bob Seger and Kenny Chesney. Evan Veeder won a student Gold ADDY, a Silver ADDY, and the student Judge’s Award. Other students winning Silver ADDYs were Matt Lanke (2), Jennifer Matthews, and Molly Moon.
