April 9th, 2012 Comments Off on SPE @ MSU: Call for Submissions of Proposals

Society for Photographic Education South Central Regional Conference OCT 25-28, 2012
Mississippi State University
Featured Speakers: Susan Burnstine, Kelli Connell and Todd Hido

“The courage to explore personal vision is what every photographer needs to be successful throughout his or her career. This conference calls upon photographers who challenge the norm in their approach to lens-based media. For educators it is important to examine what we believe are important factors in designing new programs in photography, and to encourage students to take creative risks as they expand personal perspectives in their work.”

Call for Submissions of proposals: All proposal formats are encouraged including lectures, image-maker presentations, graduate student presentations, panels, workshops, demonstrations, and academic practicum workshops. Regional graduate program presentations are also welcome. Proposals must include presenter’s name, email, phone and website. Proposals require a working title, a short (500 words or less) description of proposed presentation. Panel proposals are required to provide a list of participants with short bios in addition to the basic proposal information. Images should be submitted when appropriate to topic proposal.

Please email proposals to Wendy Roussin wroussin@comm.msstate.edu no later than 5pm CST Friday June 1st 2012.
