Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) graduate students in Dr. Cindy Bethel’s Human-Robot Interactions course dropped by Etheredge Hall to study and collect data on how people interact with robots.

“We call it Pat because we’re not sure if it’s a boy or a girl – an old SNL joke,” said student Joe Crumpton, who added that it was good to see how students outside of CSE interact with Pat, a nao robot from France.

As part of a class assignment, the graduate students are collecting data that will be presented as part of their final exam.

Other students in the group with Crumpton were Chris Freels, Sandra Gibson, Wilson Jones and Chris Roberts.
