Interior Design students recently submitted projects to a competition sponsored by Barefield Workplace Solutions in Jackson.
The goal of this project was to increase proficiency in planning and designing large scale commercial interiors. This project focused on the specific issues of general office and customer service space types and on understanding systems furniture selection and specification. Students were guided through the project in Professor Amy Crumpton’s studio course.
The scholarship winners of the this year’s Steelcase Competition Project were Mackenzie Neel and Mary Clair Cardin. These students will each receive a $500 scholarship. Sunny Clements also received honorable mention for her project.
Student winners were selected by Brian Clark, strategic account manager at Steelcase in Birmingham, Ala., and Ginger Huffman, RID, IIDA, interior designer for Office Interiors in Huntsville, Ala.
