The Mississippi State University Association of Retired Faculty (ARF) is pleased to announce the selection of 4th year architecture student, Matthew Robinson, as the recipient of the 2011 William L. Giles Award for Excellence in Architecture. Dr. Giles was one of the MSU leaders whose integrity shaped the institution that we see today; as president of MSU, he was very instrumental in the formation of the School of Architecture in 1973. The Architecture building, Giles Hall, is named in his honor. Matthew is a 4th year architecture student and the current Vice President of AIAS. This ARF award also carries a cash stipend in the amount of $250. Matthew’s name will be added to the official ARF Giles Award plaque hanging in the Bob + Kathy Luke Architecture Library.
The award will be presented at the ARF Awards Banquet, which will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Tuesday, December 13, in the Pegasus Dining Room in the Wise Center.
