The Margaret Walker Center at Jackson State University will host a conversation on the "Eviction and the Law: Knowing Your Rights" with Mississippi State Representative Zakiya Summer, John Jopling and William Bedwell from the Mississippi Center for Justice, and Keisha Stokes-Hough with the Southern Poverty Law Center at 6 p.m. on Thurs., Sept.
Mississippi State faculty members, Assistant Professors Silvina Lopez Barrera and Kateryna Malaia, Ph.D., are moderating programing events of Evicted: An Exhibition hosted by the Margaret Walker Center at Jackson State University.
A registered architect in Maryland and Missouri, Spence assumed the role at the state’s leading university on July 1.

Today we presented our cardboard sitting device project that we’ve been working on for the past few days! Dr. Hunter joined us for the critiques, and we were able to have some great feedback on the work done by the students. We began our project in the Cotton District, and we will continue and finish it on Friday. We can’t WAIT to show everyone what we have done this week on Saturday.

"Buildings of Mississippi" was a decade-long project of Emeritus Professor of Architecture Michael W. Fazio and his co-author, Mississippi Department of Archives and History Chief Architectural Historian Jennifer V. O. Baughn.
We are finishing up our cardboard sitting device, and we have had a full day of presentations and critiques. Despite a little rain, we were able to have some awesome work today. Tomorrow we will be testing the seating devices and then starting our two-day final project! We will be introducing site planning, design methods, and we will listen to a few presentations!
