S|ARC 50th Anniversary Chautauqua
At the founding of the Mississippi State University School of Architecture, the dean and faculty of the school invited outstanding practitioners and academics to come to campus and take on a design challenge, the Chautauqua. The Chautauqua was conceived as a collaboration between the School of Architecture and the Center for Small Town Research and Design (the former name of the current research center the Fred Carl Jr. Small Town Center) at the inception of the Small Town Center in October 1979.
Two MSU School of Architecture graduates receive promotions at SS&L Architects
David Donovan is part of the class of 2007, and Jake Johnson is part of the class of 2016.
S|ARC 50th Anniversary Alumni Tailgate
As part of events surrounding the 50th Anniversary of the School of Architecture at Mississippi State, alumni gathered for a football tailgate at Giles Hall before the MSU vs. Arizona game on Sept. 9, 2023.
Alumni and friends toured the school, visited with classmates and enjoyed some tailgating fun.

Why did you choose CAADatMSU?
I’ve wanted to be an architect since middle school and grew up a MSU fan, but visiting the campus and attending the Design Discovery camp is what sealed my decision. I instantly fell in love with the beautiful campus, the hands on learning, and the close-knit studio culture.
