Students in Lori Neuenfeldt’s Understanding Fashion in Art course recently visited the Lauren Rogers Museum of Art in Laurel.

Curator Kristen Miller Zohn discussed the different costumes in some of the key works on permanent display at the museum.

Each student in the class will now research a piece in the collection to understand aspects of costume and how artists use costume to convey meaning.

The art students in the class will draw costume illustrations that will be passed on to MSU fashion design students, who will construct garments based on the illustrations.

The work may be part of an upcoming exhibition at the Lauren Rogers Museum titled “Who, What, Wear?”
