Mississippi State interior design students received 58 of approximately 85 possible awards at the 2019 American Society of Interior Designers South Central Design Summit this spring.
MSU Professor Beth Miller, interior design program director, credits the group’s success to its involvement in a wide range of project types and faculty guidance on studio projects. MSU’s interior design program also offers a number of courses, including furniture design, computer skills, hand rendering, and lighting that other similar programs do not include.
“For the past few years, the MSU interior design program has dominated the competition, and we hope to continue the tradition,” Miller said. “I think it is evident that student work from MSU is high quality and competitive.”
The ASID student competition drew representatives from higher education institutions throughout Mississippi, Louisiana and Arkansas.
