ELIGIBILITY/PREREQUISITES
Are you looking for an art history elective? History of Graphic Design is now open to all students (it used to be for GD majors only).
Do you plan to major in graphic design? History of Graphic Design is a required course for GD majors!
Do you plan to minor in graphic design? History of Graphic Design is a GD minor elective!
FORMAT/STRUCTURE
The course format is online asynchronous. This means all course activity is conducted online with students completing the coursework on their own time, within timelines set by the instructor. There are no required face-to-face sessions within the course and no requirements for on-campus activity.
Over the course of the semester, students will complete 1 discussion (introducing yourself to the class), 3 open-book/-note tests, and 2 short creative exercises in Canvas.
REQUIRED TEXTBOOK
The required textbook Graphic Design: A New History 3rd Edition by Eskilson can be purchased from several online vendors as well as the MSU Barnes & Noble bookstore. Test content will come exclusively from the textbook. A small selection of supplemental readings and videos will be posted to Canvas.
