Visions from the Inside
Visions from the Inside is a series of relief printmaking illustrations inspired by tarot and nostalgia that explores my internal world of Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID). DID is a disorder formed from childhood trauma and intense dissociation. My work pushes towards dismantling the taboos that surround mental health, specifically the trauma-informed. The ability to convey concepts through art transcends any language barrier, so I have always tried to seek out other artists who put their adventures and struggles into designs or comics. By being vulnerable and showing the normally unspoken inner workings of my mind in this show, I hope to reach out and touch people through empathy or by presenting work that makes someone else brave enough to reveal their personal struggles.
