Voices of Identity
2022
Voices of Identity is a video art series that explores people of my generation, our experiences, and how we reflect on these experiences that have shaped who we are now. We all are aware that we are human, but our individual experiences, accomplishments, and setbacks shape who we are, making no one human the same.
As I progress through this series, my research has shifted back and forth between experiences and identity. Hearing a person's journey, not only what they are doing in life but the how and why, shows a relationship between their identity and how they think they are viewed. My series holds the concept of self-identity, and I want my audience to understand that even though we all have different experiences in life, we can share and grow from each other through learning one's identity and purpose in life. Voices of Identity will give not only my models the opportunity to share their life but for my audience to learn from one another, as we as humans have been doing this for centuries
