And Whatnot
Artist Statement
My artwork is called And Whatnot. It’s a piece made of branches and broken, discarded things. Honestly, it’s a representation of me really. It’s chaotic, random, and sometimes violent. But it’s also thoughtful, and to me it’s kind. It’s what I used as an outlet for everything that’s happened to me this semester. Ups and downs, unending exhaustion, the joy of figuring out how to build the next subject. It’s the result of my mindscape, and the many voices telling me what to do, how to do it, and why I should do it. Ultimately, it’s me, and all the flaws and imperfections that come with that.
