Vidya Games
My body of work are paintings of portraits with a video game that they have a special connection to or a game that they really enjoy that serves as the back ground or backdrop for the portraits. The process starts with conversing and photographing the model then finding images of the game that they like, then create a pleasing composition using photoshop and paint the image on a cradled panel made by me using oil paints and quick-drying medium. My goal is to show the viewer how video games are important to some people and how they can feel joy from playing them. I also want the viewer to express how they feel when viewing the paintings. Moving forward I want to explore more surreal portraits using video games as continue I continue to formulate new ideas.
