Engrained
Creativity and love bring my family and I together around meals, games, and hobbies. The game table sets I have created follow in the footsteps of my father's hobby of wood working. He is always creating some token of affection for my mom, whether it’s a jewelry box, a chair, a cutting board, etc. Even though my dad was always creating these tokens for my mom, the first time I ever worked on anything in a woodshop was in college, far away from my father’s tools.
We now share this passion for woodworking, as he has provided me with support and guidance while exploring the medium. I enjoyed working together with my father on some of the pieces in the show and am grateful for the wood he provided for my pieces. With warm wood grain and smooth, simple forms, these pieces are functional with a nostalgic and sentimental feeling. Engrained is the sentimental token that I have finally been able to create for my family.
